Proactive Personality and Employee Creativity in Work Teams: Examining a Multilevel Model (WITHDRAWN)

Using the theoretical frameworks offered by work design, proactive personality and creativity, this study investigated the mechanism by which team mean level of proactive personality influences employee creativity in work teams. Hypotheses were tested by using subordinate-supervisor dyads data from 90 work teams in China. Results indicated that team mean level of proactive personality had a positive cross-level effect on employee creativity. Furthermore, team mean level of proactive personality was positively related to team climate for creativity, which in turn had a positive cross-level effect on employee creativity. Finally, we discussed the implication of these results for our understanding of the effects of proactive personality on employee creativity in work teams.
