Abstract
Repair process based on laser technology such as machining are being studied because of their greater flexibility of use and no mechanical contact with the surface and more precisely on the carrier robot tool. An experimental study was conducted using a pulsed laser of wavelength 1064 nm with an energy of 1 mJ and a pulse duration of 130 to 180 ns for repetition frequencies ranging from 50 to 100 kHz. The feasibility of the process was demonstrated in previous work [1]. Indeed, this method allows to machine significant volumes of several cm3 while respecting the expected geometry. The influence of various operating parameters of laser processing was also studied. Thus, the optimization of machining process of a material flow was defined. In micro-machining, shorter pulses reduce heat-affected damage of the material. The objective of this study is to determine the impact of the laser machining of the material. The state of material has been studied through observations of macrograph. Macrographs were conducted to estimate the size of the molten zone and observe the surface of the sample machined through the transverse geometry of the bottom of the machine. However, it was found that the machining process by nanosecond pulsed laser is at the boundary between the ablation and percussion regimes. This study will allow us to clarify this last point.Repair process based on laser technology such as machining are being studied because of their greater flexibility of use and no mechanical contact with the surface and more precisely on the carrier robot tool.
