Two-photon-excited Rb decay transients as probes of material porosity

We studied fluorescence decay following sudden interruption of two-photon excitation of Rb atoms inside interstitial cavities of porous glass. Since the transients are limited by collisions with pore walls, information about confinement dimensions is obtained.
