The Nature of Plasma

Charge neutrality is one of fundamental property of plasma. Section 1.2 explains Debye length lambda(D) in (1.2), a measure of shielding distance of electrostatic potential, and electron plasma frequency Pi(e) in (1.4), a measure of inverse time scale of electron's motion to cancel the electric perturbation. Both parameters are related with lambda(D)Pi(e) = nu(Te), nu(Te) being electron thermal velocity. Section 1.3 describes the condition of fusion core plasma. The necessary condition for the density, ion temperature and energy confinement time is given by (1.9).
