The article is devoted to the substantiation of the non-cement composition of penetrating action on the basis of blast furnace granulated slag and sodium silicate. The results of the investigation of the influence of the content of sodium hydroxide and the complex chemical additive that provides penetrating action on the physical and mechanical properties of the composition are given. Electronic-microscopic research was carried out. It was established that the dependence of the composition strength of the sodium hydroxide content has an extreme nature with a maximumcorresponding to its content of about 5 %. Correlation between the strength of the composition for compression and the content of a complex chemical additive within 1-3 % was not revealed.. It has been found that the hydration products of the composition are preferably gel-like, crystallinehydration products presented in a smaller number of prismatic and needle-like crystals of aluminate phases. The pore size in the composition of the composition preferably does not exceed 2 μm.
