Based on practical experience, and the study of conventional workflow and quality control methodsfor towed-streamer seismic data acquisition, a towed-streamer, real-time quality control technique was developed by BGP. The technique has achievedrapid, efficient, and visualon-line checking and analysisofboth seismic data and the working status of active navigation equipment, gun arrays, and streamers. Following application in several projects, it has been shownthat the technique has improved both the quality and efficiency of towed-streamer seismic data acquisition. This paper provides detailsof the technique and the effects of its application.
