Usually the strong seismic reflection generates in seismic section between Tertiary and pre-Tertiary because the beach sandstones overlays directly basement, it is difficult to identify the beach sandstones. It is first defined that the thin beach sandstone distributed along east lake shore in narrow belt based on analysis of sedimentary characteristics. It is also determined that the thin beach sandstones developing at unconformity are characterized by low frequency through forward modelling, according to which the reservoir is picked up effectively from the strong reflection interface. The distribution of the reservoir being picked is coincided with actual drilling data more than 70%, which guides the exploration of the beach sandstones reservoir oil-bearing.
