ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis and Cytotoxic Evaluation of Novel Indenoisoquinoline-propan-2-ol Hybrids.

An efficient synthetic approach toward nine variously substituted indenoisoquinolines with regard to the lactam nitrogen, starting from the two‐step condensation of 2‐carboxybenzaldehyde and phthalide, followed by the reaction with the appropriate primary amines is reported.
