Reconfigurable Manufacturing System(RMS) is a kind of new typed manufacturing system which answers rapidly the new environment of production and possesses important significance in the aspect of individualized production and rapid answering the changes of market.The history,concept,classification,features of reconfiguration and its characteristics of reconfigurable manufacturing system are expounded.The current situation of research for present RMS is reviewed. The key techniques of RMS are disscussed,and the developing direction of applicational research for reconfigurable manufacturing system is advanced.
