Forensic genetics truly represent an excellent example of the synthesis of scientific knowledge with everyday life applications. In order for science to find its way into everyday life, i.e., for the results obtained in forensic DNA laboratories to be presentable in court, as part of police paternity investigations, they must be formulated in a clear and understandable form so that even people who do not have a basic knowledge of forensic genetics can understand them. Therefore, the language of molecular biology and population genetics must be translated into a common one. Success in this segment has largely contributed to the popularity of forensic genetics. In fact, it has managed to successfully show its results accurately and understandably by using the universal language of mathematics. This chapter represents a few basic postulates that every scientist working in this area, but also every person that uses the results of DNA analysis in their daily work, should know.
