Molecularly imprinted polymer as sorbent phase for disposable pipette extraction: A potential approach for creatinine analysis in human urine samples

•MIP sorbent was used as a selective solid-phase for creatinine extraction in urine.•The optimized DPX method achieved high recovery values for creatinine extraction.•A fast extraction method was performed (3 min).•An improvement of the extraction of creatinine was achieved with the use of the MIP.•The method showed an adequate LOQ of 0.302 g L−1 for creatinine in real urine samples.
