Rapid On-site identification of geographical origin and storage age of tangerine peel by Near-infrared spectroscopy

•The simultaneous identification of storage life and origin of tangerine peel was studied.•The hand-held near infrared spectrometer was used to realize the fast detection on site.•Multivariate analysis was applied to the spectral data for chemometric model development.•The same model can simultaneously realize the accurate identification of storage age and origin of tangerine peel.
