摘要
•Non centrally placed sliding screws carry the risk of missed articular penetration in hip joint since the conventional fluoroscopy provides the two-dimensional representation of the femoral head.•Proximal femoral fractures are often reduced with manoeuvres that involve deviation from the neutral position.•Tip apex distance (TAD) and articular clearance of the screw tip can be misinterpreted in such non-neutral positions.•The current Computed tomography-based analysis suggests the modified fluoroscopic projections for safe subchondral placement of the sliding screw in different locations of the femoral head.•Additionally, the variation of TAD with change in limb position has been analysed.
