摘要
•Traumatic injury requiring care in a trauma center in Northeast Texas agricultural settings occurred at a rate of 3.9 cases per 1000 farmworkers.•The patients ranged in age from 2 years old to 90 years old, which is typical of published literature. Agriculture poses significant injury hazards to the very young and the elderly.•In contrast to most published studies, animal-related incidents were the majority cause of injury.•Population density was the strongest negative predictor of injury events per 1000 farmworkers, whereas the number of farmworkers per Zip Code Tabulation Areas and the percentage of whites in the population were positive predictors of the outcome.
