Among these processing and imaging techniques, we highlight the Least-Squares Reverse Time Migration (LSRTM), which became a reality for several projects nowadays. In this work, we present the outcome of recent LSRTM applications in challenging areas on deep-water offshore of the Santos Basin, Brazil. Important benefits are seen, such as illumination compensation in the pre-salt section, more reliable data for quantitative analysis, resolution uplift, and reduction of migration artifacts, aiding the exploratory interpretation and characterization of the carbonate reservoirs. Keywords: least-squares migration, case histories, amplitude fidelity, AVO/AVA, resolutionPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/image2022-3745685.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Second International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & EnergyISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2022 Pages: 3694 publication data© 2022 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum GeologistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 15 Aug 2022 CITATION INFORMATION José Rodrigues, Felipe Duarte, Danilo Domingos, Bruno Pereira-Dias, and Elionardo Pintas, (2022), "Least-squares reverse time migration: Lessons learned from recent applications in challenging areas of the Santos Basin, Brazil," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 2699-2703. https://doi.org/10.1190/image2022-3745685.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordsleast-squares migrationcase historiesamplitude fidelityAVO/AVAresolutionPDF DownloadLoading ...
