Platelet protects angiotensin II-driven abdominal aortic aneurysm formation through inhibition of inflammation

•Our study first reported the beneficial effect of platelet transfusion for suppressing Ang II-driven AAA progress in mice•Platelet transfusion could remarkably decrease the inflammatory cells infiltration, MMPs expression in abdominal aorta.•These findings demonstrate a previously unappreciated role for platelets in AAA.
