Immobilization of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma and the application in screening modulators of the receptor from herbal medicine

•A new method was developed for synthesizing immobilized PPARγ stationary phase.•Immobilized PPARγ based-stationary phase was applied in the determination of drug-receptor binding parameters.•Immobilized PPARγ was applied in screening and identifying the main bioactive compounds of Coptidis Rhizoma against diabetes.
