•Finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics methods were combined to simulate coil deployment.•We interpreted the effect of coil embolization of sigmoid sinus diverticulum from multiple hemodynamic parameters.•This study elucidated the long-term and short-term hemodynamic mechanism of coil in the treatment of pulsatile tinnitus.
