Abstract
Because the management of patients with synchronous colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) (i.e., metastases detected at or before diagnosis of primary colorectal cancer) requires a complex multidisciplinary strategy including colorectal resection, liver resection, and several specific techniques such as portal vein embolization (PVE), the timing, approach, and detailed procedure of PVE for synchronous CRLM is still debatable. Here, we present our experience with simultaneous PVE and colorectal resection in a hybrid interventional radiology/operating suite for synchronous CRLM.
