观赏海棠新品种'大棠芳玫'(Malus'Datang fangmei')为草原海棠(Malus ioensis)实生后代.树姿开张.叶片绿色,有裂刻,深秋变红色.花蕾似玫瑰,开花后有浓郁的香气.果实绿色,点缀在红叶间,别有风味.在山东省青岛地区,'大棠芳玫'4月底5月初开花,花期晚于其他海棠.'大棠芳玫'高抗苹果锈病,可以与桧柏一起栽植.
