Water Splitting Mediated by an Electrocatalytically Driven Cyclic Process Involving Iron Oxide Species
semanticscholar(2020)
Abstract
Water splitting carried out upon usage of sulfuric acid in which hematite was suspended at high concentration was shown for the first time. Remarkably: the ultralow OER overpotential of a few tens of millivolt, the very low cell voltage and the negligible mass loss of the anode that solely consists of non-noble elements.
