On optical properties of transparent micro- and nanoplastics

A reliable method to detect transparent microand nanoplastics in aquatic environments has been suggested in this thesis work. The study of NIR spectra of six commonly used plastics was done, first in air and then in water. This thesis work also contains the measurements of refractive index of plastics in air. Both the properties of plastics i.e, NIR spectra and refractive index, have given promising results for the identification of plastic types in water.
