An occupational perspective on COVID-19

The year 2020 will be remembered as the year of the world pandemic from a corona virus, COVID-19. The virus has created a time of unprecedented threat which has been responded to in various ways by governments around the world, however most responses have resulted in some period of restriction to movements within and across communities and disruptions and changes to usual performance of many occupations. The pandemic has provided an exceptional period in time which is a rich context for studying humans as occupational beings. Mainstream epidemiological and economic responses have received much attention in the popular media. In this call for papers we invite authors to submit primary studies, reviews or theoretical papers related to the experience of COVID-19 from an occupational perspective. An occupational perspective may provide knowledge that not only contributes to occupational science but provides information to increase the resilience of individuals and populations to respond to future pandemics whilst recovering from the one currently experienced.
