•Integrated gamma-ray Sentinel 2 data efficiently boosts lithological discrimination.•Fused with sentinel 2, total count value is better than K, Th or U content.•SVM efficiently classify 13 rock units using blended gamma-ray Sentinel 2 data.•Reference map having the same pixel size and dimensions is recommended for sampling.
