Abstract
•The effect of the thermal shock on eutectic evolution is simulated and studied.•The out-of-equilibrium eutectic growth dynamics under thermal shock is quantified.•A multilinear correlation between the feature parameters and the technical factors is summarized.•Valuable quantitative data on microstructure stability of lamellar eutectics under thermal perturbation is provided.•An efficient way to obtain the engineered eutectic pattern by imposing laser shock is proposed.
