Automatic Waste Segregator Using Arduino Uno

Due to rapid increase in urbanization and industrialization, the volume and types of hazardous waste also expeditiously increasing. Because of that it is difficult to dispose and process the waste effectively. The segregation and disposal of waste needs to be perfectly managed in such a way that it minimize the risk to the health of patients, public and environment. It is extremely difficult to segregate waste manually and the process is quite tedious but the economic value of waste is only realized when it is segregated. This paper presents an Automatic Waste Segregator (AWS) system which is cheap and convenient for waste segregation at household level. This system is designed to classify the waste into metallic, wet and dry waste using different sensors connected and deflect it in the respective bin. The garbage level is monitored by Ultrasonic sensor, it notifies us about the garbage level in the bin i.e full or empty. The experimental setup is all about automation and consequently reduces the human intervention.
