Experimental Studies of TV Drone Pilots: Methods of Collecting, Visualizing, and Analyzing Data on Pilot’s Eye and Head Movement when Flying a Drone

Abstract
The image recorded by TV drones, included in reportage materials and live coverage, expands the information possibilities of modern television. As this technology has only recently been used in the TV industry, research on drone TV remotes is still relatively modest. A literature query indicates that scientists are constantly looking for the most effective methods of researching the work of TV drone pilots in order to improve the parameters of drone controllers used by the pilots. Scientifi c objective: to create and test an experimental research method using video image techniques, which, in combination with other methods used in media studies (eye tracking and declarative research), will allow to obtain complementary data on the head and eye movements of a drone pilot, enabling observation of the drone and its screen controller. Research methods: biometric measurements: eye tracking, experimental method of implementation techniques and video analysis, the competent judge test, questionnaire research. Results and conclusions: usefulness of the adopted methods in conducting research on the observation of the drone and its controller during the fl ight with the drone’s sight was confi rmed.
