The willingness to use mobile health and its influencing factors among elderly patients with chronic heart failure in Shanghai, China

•This is one of the few studies exploring the willingness of elderly patients with chronic heart failure to use mobile health in China.•Knowing about mobile health, usage of mobile health, self-rated health, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and self-efficacy were important factors related to the patients’ willingness to use mobile health.•Developing user-friendly and useful mobile health, publicizing mobile health among elderly patients with chronic heart failure, and providing training are suggested.
