Abstract
•Nucleocapsid protein of TSWV was expressed in bacterial expression system using rDNA technology.•N protein was confirmed by western blot analysis using anti-rabbit immunoglobulin (IgG) tagged with Alexa fluor plus 800 fluorescent dye.•Polyclonal antiserum was raised using expressed N protein of TSWV.•DAS-ELISA reacted specifically to naturally infected chrysanthemum without any cross-reaction with other tospovirus.•Infection of TSWV in chrysanthemum stem cuttings was screened using the developed TSWV antiserum in large numbers from various locations.
