Impella Mechanical Circulatory Support for Takotsubo Syndrome With Shock: A Retrospective Multicenter Analysis

•Cardiogenic shock is difficult to manage in patients with Takotsubo syndrome.•Until today V-A ECMO and IABP have been used in most cases.•This is the first series of Takotsubo patients treated with an Impella microaxial pump for severe cardiogenic shock.•Impella support was feasible and appeared safe and effective.•Prospective studies are warranted and needed.
