Improved structures to solve aggregated queries for trips over public transportation networks

•We face the problem of representing user trips over public transportation networks.•We model the problem and present a list of relevant queries.•T-matrices efficiently supports queries regarding aggregated network load.•Both TTCTR and XCTR use compact data structures to represent all user’s trajectories.•TTCTR and XCTR provide compression and efficiently support for trip-pattern queries.
