Abstract
•Change in metabolites of developing sea buckthorn berry pulp (SBP) was compared.•Thirty differential metabolites involved in lipid metabolism were identified.•G3P was an indicator of high oil SBP germplasms.•PC (16:1/16:1) and 16:1-CoA were the key metabolites for SBP with high C16:1.•Upregulation of GPD1 and Δ9D genes improve the biosynthesis of oil and C16:1.
