Treatment patterns and outcomes for patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma in England in 2013–2017: A nationwide CAS registry analysis from the I-O Optimise initiative

•In England in 2013–2017, half of MPM patients received only best supportive care.•Around 5% of patients with MPM underwent surgery.•33% received platinum + pemetrexed as initial treatment (standard of care).•Overall median survival in MPM patients was 8.3 months and varied by histology.•Median OS in unresected patients treated with standard of care was 11.3 months.
