Abstract
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) being grouped as Group1 Carcinogen by World Health Organisation (WHO) is arising as multidrug resistant (MDR), necessitating efficacy in current therapeutic approach. Efflux pump plays the major role in development of MDR strains in H.pylori. Ubiquitous nature and substrate specificity is engendering efflux pumps as potent drug targets. Structural analogy of transport family members would abide to the successful development of EPIs for abolishment of MDR strains. This review elaborates the drug resitance in H. pylori and the associated multidrug efflux pumps further review have a summarised list of transport members in each efflux family.
