Carbon cloth as an important electrode support for the high selective electrosorption of uranium from acidic uranium mine wastewater

•A modified carbon cloth electrode shows good uranium electrosorption at pH = 2.•This electrode exhibits desirable stability, selectivity and reusability.•The impact of voltage and frequency on the selectivity of uranium is discussed.•A new index “PC1/2” is proposed to quantify power use during uranium capture.
