Abstract
•Nitrogenous carbon based material g-C3N4 was employed.•g-C3N4 were well doped with VP and a composite was developed.•g-C3N4/VP composite exhibits a superior specific capacity of 498 Cg−1.•72% retention capacity by the composite material even after 5000 cycles of performance.
