Pollinator communities vary with vegetation structure and time since management within regenerating timber harvests of the Central Appalachian Mountains

•Regenerating timber harvests provide pollinators with foraging and nesting opportunities.•Pollinators use of timber harvests heavily declines after 6 years post-harvest.•Pollinator diversity and density were positively associated with season-wide floral resources.•Pollinator diversity and density were negatively associated with dense vegetation that inhibited understory flowers.•Forest management that promotes understory floral resources could benefit pollinators in heavily forest landscapes.
