Research Developments On Photonic Moire Lattices

Moire lattices are composite structures composed of two identical or similar periodic structures. Inspired by the research in the van der Waals heterostructures, the research interest on moire physics in optical, acoustic, mechanical, and thermal systems is either renewing or emerging. Here we review the recent research developments on optical/photonic moire lattices, including monolayered and bilayered moire structures, discussing their linear and nonlinear optical properties of different realization of moire lattices.
