Abstract
Results of studies of the luminescent properties of MgF 2 ceramics and MgF 2 ceramics doped with tungsten trioxide synthesized in air upon exposure to a pulsed electron beam are presented. The photo- and cathodoluminescence spectra and the photoluminescence excitation spectra have been studied at 300 K both in as-prepared samples and in the samples after high-temperature annealing in air. The presence of luminescent centers of two types has been discovered: the electron color centers with the parameters similar to those in the MgF 2 crystal structure and the emitting centers of the W–O–V a impurity type. The formation of the additional MgO phase in the annealed ceramics is observed.
