•Chemiluminescent O2-assay based on iBu2AlH oxidation and Eu2+ emission is developed.•The sensitivity of CL-assay is higher than many optical oxygen sensors.•The dependence of CL on O2 concentration remains linear from 44.68 to 0.18 ppm.•The CL-assay response time does not exceed the 6 s.
