摘要
Suffering from a life-threatening disease such as COVID-19 can be a source of great personal but also familystress. Methods: after signing the informed consent form, 50 relatives of people with COVID-19 (84% women) aged between 20-63 years (M = 36.88; SD = 12.73) participated in the study. Sociodemographic aspects, stress (Perceived Stress Scale), emotional bonds (Adult Attachment Questionnaire) and personality (NEO Personality Inventory) were assessed. Results: relatives of COVID-19 affected individuals presented stress, insecure attachment characteristics and a moderately adjusted personality profile. Secure attachment characteristics were associated with less stress and a healthier personality profile. Conclusions: We underscore the importance of paying attention to family members of people affected by COVID-19, as they suffer a great emotional impact.
