Genesis of the Maanqiao gold deposit in the western Qinling orogen, central China: Constraints from fluid inclusions and in-situ sulfur isotopes

•The ore-forming fluid is characterized by medium-temperature, low-salinity and CO2-rich.•Fluid immiscibility and fluid–rock interaction resulted in the gold precipitation.•The δ34S variation reveals different sulfur sources.•The Maanqiao deposit is an orogenic type related to the Indosinian Qinling orogeny.
