The Soil - The Underestimated Boundary Condition In Dispersion Modelling

The soil as a lower boundary for models for dispersion calculation receives little attention because of the slow changes. Climate change-induced increased drying of the upper soil layers and reduced water availability at the root depth result in striking effects on the stability of stratification in the atmosphere. Temperature and moisture conditions and related physical processes are described in the paper to better assess potential impacts on atmospheric processes.
