摘要

•Phosphonium polyelectrolytes act simultaneously, as reducing, and stabilizing agents for the gold nanoparticles.•Gold spherical particles with diameters in the range of 3–20 nm.•Gold nanoparticles can be dispersed in water, methanol and DMSO.•Higher molecular weight polymer-gold nanoparticles complexes exhibited better stability in the ambient conditions.
