Pedab - The Personal Dosimetry Database At The Research Centre Juelich

In May, 1997 the mainframe based registration, processing and archiving of personal monitoring data at the research centre Julich (FZJ) was transfered to a client server system. A complex database application was developed. The client user interface is a Windows based Microsoft ACCESS application which is connected to an ORACLE database via ODBC and TCP/IP, The conversion covered all areas of personal dosimetry including internal and external exposition as well as administrative areas. A higher degree of flexibility, data security and integrity was achieved.
