摘要
In recent years, from a series of employees' jumping events at Foxconn company, the oil spill event in the Bohai Bay to frequent industrial accidents in Jiangsu Province, the operation and management of corporate problems, and in particular, the issue of social responsibility, appear to be prevalent in China. Achieving industry upgrading and increasing long-term profit are impossible missions if the companies only concentrate on cutting necessary spending for smoothening the manufacturing process. Only by adopting advanced operation and management systems can the risk of industrial accidents be avoided, expanding orders, establishing a good corporate image, and improving employee loyalty and productivity as well. This will enhance the international competitiveness of enterprises. This paper starts from the analysis of China's manufacturing industry, as well as the current challenges confronting enterprises in this industry looking at cases from Europe, America and other developing countries. It then analyses the pros and cons of implementing SA8000. In addition, this paper states the urgency of implementing the SA8000 in Chinese manufacturing enterprises.
