Guide For The Management Of The Thyroid Nodule And Differentiated Thyroid Cancer By The Mexican Society Of Oncology

Differentiated thyroid cancer recently has shown a rapid increase in its incidence; usually is associated with a favorable prognoses, but statistics in our country suggest it is associated with higher lethality than observed in other countries. This can be attributed to a poor access to health services, but to incorrect or incomplete treatments too. The Sociedad Mexicana de Oncologia and Grupo de Investigacion en Cancer de Cabeza y Cuello reviewed and critically analyzed most important papers published last 10 years, and organized meetings for consensus and finally redacted a guide for the management of thyroid nodule and differentiated thyroid cancer in order to contribute to a better treatment and obtain improved results in patients affected by this interesting neoplasm.
