Systematic Thermalphotovoltaic Solar Cell Optimization

摘要
In this work, we present a systematical simulation study on narrow band gap In0.53Ga0.47As single junction solar cell, latticed-matched to InP substrate, for the application of thermophotovoltaic systems. The In0.53Ga0.47As solar cell performance is simulated based on multiple parameters including: thermal emitter emission spectrum of the TPV system, epitaxial design of cell structure and cell temperature. This study demonstrates a pathway to optimize the TPV cell structure, and analyzes the effect of tailoring emitter spectrum and cell temperature.
