摘要
Studies of composition and molecular characterization of resins were carried out in order to establish a possible relationship between these properties and the crude oil asphaltene stability. Resins type I and type II of four Venezuelan crudes of different operational stability were analyzed by IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, VPO and organic elemental analysis of C, N, O and S. The results show that resins I are smaller and more aromatic structures than its resins II, allowing them to establish more effective interactions, micropore penetration and co-precipitation with the asphaltenes fraction. The resins from stable crude present acid groups (-COOH) and higher sulfur content than resins from unstable crudes. This suggests that asphaltenes crude oil stability could be a consequence of the effective interactions by hydrogen bonds between the acids groups and basic centers present in the asphaltene.
