摘要
In the event of procedures involving tissue lesions in the oral cavity, inflammatory reactions will be generated; therefore, guided tissue regeneration and soft tissue expansion techniques have been incorporated to restore shape and function of the affected tissue. With this aim, in this work, chitosan and propolis membranes were prepared to analyze some of their chemical and microbiological properties, for their possible usefulness in the regeneration of soft tissues in the oral cavity. Study with a descriptive level and pre-experimental design was performed, with a sample of 9 fractions of 3 chitosan / propolis membranes. The pKa of the chitosan membranes was determined by potentiometric titration curves. Controlled release of propolis studies were carried out by means of spectrophotometric calibration curves, and finally a microbiological study of the microbial susceptibility from membranes front Pseudomona aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae was performed. Preparation of chitosan/propolis membranes was found to result from a simple, standard, reproducible and economically accessible process, making it a viable alternative in clinical practice, due to of mucoadhesive properties, controlled propolis release and antimicrobial effectiveness front to the studied strains.
